My name is Drew Geier and I love baseball (if you didn’t pick up on it already). I attended Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Moeller has an elite baseball program winning the Ohio state championship nine times. I may not have had the on field skills to make the team, but I found a way to be part of it as student manager.  My junior and senior year (2021-2022), I was the Head Student Assistant for the program in charge of film for all varsity games and the creation of scouting reports on our opponent’s returning players.  These reports were built from data collected using InsideEdge and were referenced by coaches in game. Creating the foundation of this student-ran program helped fuel Moeller 2023 Division 1 state championship run.

Today, I’m a student manager and in-season Bullpen coach for the Ohio University Baseball Team. My main duty is to ensure practice runs smoothly which includes pre-practice drill set up, transitioning in-between, and feeding the machines during BP. I also provide research and analysis for the coaching staff. For example, a project I was in charge of this fall was tracking baserunning for our offense, creating an aggregate stat of Baserunning +/-.

For the summer of 2024, I will be the Director of Player Operations for the Southern Ohio Copperheads. This role includes working closely with the coaching staff and players to make sure all of their needs are met. I am also responsible for organizing player contracts and other paperwork, along with on-field stats for the league and team website. I'm also the only director in the organization that travels on each of the road games.

I have a strong work ethic and passion for baseball which fuels my drive to work in baseball. My dream job is to work in Baseball Operations for the Cincinnati Reds, my hometown and favorite MLB team.
